Special Issue on Solid-State Circuits and Devices

Design, fabrication, and modeling of solid-state circuits and devices have continued over several decades. Nowadays, a trend towards low voltage, low power, high density, and high speed circuits and devices is emerging. It is motivated by the increased interest in implantable or wearable devices for biomedical monitoring, sensor internet of things networks, machine learning, and similar applications.   

The main focus of this special issue is on the research challenges relating to the theory, design, and applications of solid-state circuits and devices. The topics to be covered are, but are not limited to, as follows:


¨       Analog, mixed-signal, radio frequency, mm-wave, and microwave integrated circuits and systems

¨       Biomedical circuits and systems

¨       Data converters

¨       Digital integrated circuits and systems

¨       Power and energy management circuits

¨       CMOS and emerging non-CMOS devices and technologies

¨       Modeling and simulation of materials and devices

¨       Optoelectronics, displays, and imagers

¨       Semiconductors, manufacturing, and packaging technologies

¨       Sensors, MEMS, NEMS, and bioelectronics


The authors should follow the normal procedures of the AUT Journal of Electrical Engineering for their submission ( Besides, in the cover letter, it should be noted that the manuscript is submitted for this special issue. The manuscripts will undergo the standard review process of the journal.

Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript and track its status according to the following timetable:

Manuscript submission deadline: February 01, 2021

First decision: April 01, 2021

Revised manuscript due: May 01, 2021

Notification of acceptance: June 01, 2021

Final manuscript due: June 15, 2021

Tentative publication date: July 2021
